Why Cirrus Owner Coaching?

Cirrus Owner Coaching allows a Cirrus Owner and pilot to take the ownership and flying experience to the next level. Most airplane owners settle for flying with a CFI when they transition into a new airplane or for recurrent training.

A CFI can teach you how to land a Cirrus safely and can even walk through a few emergency scenarios. Unfortunately, as you may have already experienced, many CFI’s today are young pilots that are simply trying to build the required hours to get their next job. While typically competant and nice people, their focus isn't on your long term ownership success. CFI’s also fly with pilots that are renting airplanes and there is a huge difference between training a renter to fly and coaching an owner to own.

Cirrus owner coaching goes beyond simply teaching you how to land an airplane. Owner coaching strives to get your flying proficiency and safety to a level that your friends and family beg to go flying with you. When you're Cirrus flying gets to a place where you can confidently operate all the systems, communicate well, and safely get to your destination, your passengers will enjoy their flight with you even more. If you are stumbling through the checklists, are unsure what to do if something goes wrong, and get nervous as you approach the pattern with the wind blowing, your passengers will pick up on that and enjoy flying less.

Owning a Cirrus is different from renting an airplane. Sure, most renters want to treat the airplane well but, as an owner you want to fly the airplane as fast and safe as you can, and you also want it to last for a long time. There are small changes you can make as you operate your airplane that make a big difference for the longevity of your airplane. Renters are not taught how to operate the airplane like an Owner and your typical CFI is only going to teach you how to fly your Cirrus. Cirrus owner coaching will teach you "fly your airplane like you own it (tm)".

You will also benefit tremendously from consistency in your flight instruction. If you simply fly the FAA minimum required flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks, you may meet the minimum safety standards. Over time, you'll find your continuing flight instruction is like taking 2 steps forward and 1 back as every training event is with a new CFI, because your last guy got that coveted airline job. As you fly with a coach for the long term, your skills build on previous learning to make you a much safer and more confident pilot.

The Airlines have an enviable safety record compared to GA flying. Two things account for this difference and Cirrus Owner Coaching makes up for the GA shortfall. The big differences are 1) Recurrent Training and 2) Dispatch.

Recurrent Training. Airline pilots do recurrent training every 6 months. Cirrus Owner Coaching clients do the same thing.

Dispatch. An Airline dispatcher works behind the scenes to support the airline pilots with weather, flight planning, W&B, and scheduling among other things. Cirrus Owner Coaching clinets have dispatch support too. Cirrus Owner Coaching offers a second set of eyes and expereince to review flight plans, make better weather decisions, and help make sure the Cirrus owner isn't missing anything.

Better Instruction, consistency, dispatch and recurrent training. All benefits of Cirrus Owner Coaching not available to everyone. Contact Cirrus Owner Coaching to learn more and see if this is right for you.
